"Thank you Inspired. Appreciating the mini courses. I always pick up something new, which can be applied to my service and my life."
This is a recording of a live online event we did with Angela Hanscom on 30th June 2020. Upon purchasing, you will be welcomed into the course. You will then be able to watch the recording of the session and complete an assessment/reflection.
In the past thirty years, we've started to restrict children's time and space to move and play outdoors, and have seen a simultaneous rise in the number of children presenting with sensory and motor deficits. Now with the pandemic upon us, schools are being faced with difficult decisions for re-opening. Some of the methods being implemented will restrict children in ways that we have never encountered before -- potentially leading to further physical, social, and emotional harm.Using the same philosophy that lies at the heart of her popular TimberNook program—that nature is the ultimate sensory experience, and that psychological and physical health improves for children when they spend time outside on a regular basis—Angela Hanscom offers several strategies to help children thrive in outdoor environments using a therapeutic approach to nature play.
The session is suited to anyone working with or caring for children. Those who are advocating for more outdoor play will find this particularly beneficial, as well as those wishing to deepen their understanding of the benefits of outdoor play on children's development.
We suggest that you an allow 1hr to watch the video and complete the assessment/reflection
