"The STEM mini course was a great way to keep me engaged during isolation and has given me some new ideas as well as acknowledging the things we are already doing well. Quick and easy to follow. "
This mini course has been designed to support educators to see behind the "buzz word" that is STEM, and to explore how STEM learning is occurring every single day through play!
The course is broken up into four lessons and the following is covered:
Lesson 1 - What is STEM, why is it important, and how do we support this type of learning?
Lesson 2 - Thinking about STEM - Indoor Environment
Lesson 3 - Thinking about STEM - Outdoor Environment
Lesson 4 - Documenting STEM
Our mini courses are designed to be inspiring and practical - connecting theory, ideas and inspiration with strategies and actionable steps that will enhance your practice in your work with children.
Deepen your understanding of STEM and gain confidence in your ability to plan for, observe and document STEM learning, while also recognising that this type of learning occurs every day in children's play!
Gather ideas and inspiration for providing engaging environments that facilitate STEM learning and learn how YOU as the educator are a valuable resource in children's play and learning!
The STEM mini course is suited to anyone working in the early education and care sector who is wanting to gain a deeper understanding of the STEM concept.
We suggest that the mini course is the equivalent of 1hr of face to face learning, however we recognise that all learners are different. There is content within the course that may take additional time.
