One of the sessions we're most excited about is Understanding the Sensory Systems.
This session will explore why understanding and making sense of the role of the senses in children's play is vital to creating opportunities and environments where children's natural instincts are nurtured, and children are supported to develop physically, emotionally and cognitively.
You'll walk away with practical strategies to;
- Critically reflect on the role of the eight senses, and how they are represented in children's play and environments,
- Plan for ongoing learning and development through sensory rich and responsive environments, and,
- Identify common indicators of sensory processing disorders.
That’s just one part of the day. Across the conference we’ll also cover:
- The importance of philosophy, how to make it unique and meaningful for individual service contexts,
- Looking beyond the behaviours that challenge us, and taking the time to build relationships, and,
- The key elements of critical reflection and reflective practice.
This Early Years Learning Conference has been developed in consultation with a Kindy Uplift Advisor, with the aim of supporting Kindergarten and Early Childhood services to access professional development and practice support that aligns with the 6 Kindy Uplift priority areas.
At this one-day conference, you and your team will:

- Get practical strategies you can take straight back to your service and team,
- Connect with like-minded educators who care about quality practice and meaningful reflection.
